You are cordially invited to attend the 2023 annual symposium of the Brain and Mind Institute at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Our theme this year is “Reading and Dyslexia". The symposium will be conducted via ZOOM. In the symposium, researchers will present their findings on the challenges of learning to read in English as well as in Chinese. How children with reading difficulties (dyslexia) can be supported will be discussed with a special focus on children in Hong Kong.

Precision Listening 科研成果分享會

中大何鴻燊認知神經科學教授黃俊文教授領導的研究團隊，聯同中大醫學院兒科學系的梁廷勳教授及林鴻生教授，最近研發了一套嶄新的腦電圖測試技術以預測嬰兒長大後的語言能力，此項研究已獲學術期刊《American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology》接受刊登（論文預印本已上載到：https://doi.org/10.23641/asha.14896809）。

爲了讓家長對這項測試技術有更深的認識，黃俊文教授將於7月17日（星期六）早上11時正及7月21日（星期三）晚上8時正舉辦網上研討會，分享以腦電圖預測嬰兒語言能力測試技術的研究成果，以及改善早期語言發展的方法。研討會設有家長答問環節，歡迎家長參加！

中國人有一句俗語“三歲定八十”︒發展科學中︐發展穩定性 (developmental stability) 一詞意指兒童早期的發展水平與其後能力的高低緊密相關︒語言發展就具有這種穩定性︒但是︐穩定性并不意味著不可塑性︒想要改變一個兒童的語言發展進程︐我們需要瞭解可能導致語言障礙的風險因素以及能夠預測發展結果和軌跡的途徑︒在準確預測的基礎上︐家長能夠選擇和應用一定的策略來促進孩子早期的語言發展︐從而使孩子終生受益︒

本次系列網絡講座特別為嬰幼兒家長而設︐我們將探討三個與0-3歲嬰幼兒相關的語言發展話題︒
